At Leo Sports, we believe that swimming is a life skill. Therefore, we approach each swim lesson with great skill, care, passion, and individual attention. When learning at Leo Swimming Club, every student benefits from a curriculum tested and proven by American professional swimmers. Our progressive curriculum focuses on water safety, swimming basics, and the four core swimming strokes: Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly.
Our swimming levels are as follows:
Swim Level 1
Introduction to water class focusing on building comfort, confidence, and trust. Students will learn:
Blowing bubbles
Entering the pool unassisted
Basic kicking of freestyle and backstroke
Front glide and recover, back glide and recover
Breathe holding for 10 seconds
Practice to swim 15 meters unassisted
Evaluation test time: No limited time
Learn to Swim Level 1 Advanced:
Beginner level class focused on becoming proficient in fundamental swimming skills, including:
Developing kicking and freestyle/backstroke for 25 meters
Swimming 25 meters of freestyle
Breathe holding for 10 seconds
Evaluation test time: No limited time
Swim Level 2
Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills. Children will learn basic swimming skills, including:
Developing kicking, freestyle, and backstroke
Basic arm stroke development
Breathe holding for 15 seconds
Evaluation test time: 24 sessions
Swim Level 3
Stroke Development. Additional guided practice to improve skills, including:
Developing kicking techniques
Basic breaststroke and dolphin kick
Breathe holding for 20 seconds
Evaluation test time: 24 sessions
Swim Level 4
Proficient swimmers refine freestyle and backstroke technique and learn basics of breaststroke, focusing on side breathing for freestyle:
Developing kick for all strokes
Basic turn training
Breathe holding for 20-25 seconds
Evaluation test time: 24 sessions
Development Level 5
Swimmers refine technique in all strokes, introduce butterfly, flip turns, and diving:
Refining strokes
Developing butterfly and breaststroke
Breathe holding for 30 seconds
Evaluation test time: 24 sessions
Development Level 6
Focus on refining competitive strokes, starts, turns, and diving:
Refining strokes and techniques
Dolphin kick and stamina training
Breathe holding for 30-35 seconds
Evaluation test time: 24 sessions
Development Level 7
Refine competitive strokes and focus on distance while maintaining technique:
Refining strokes and techniques
Stamina and endurance training
Breathe holding for 35-40 seconds
